Telstra cuts upload speeds during lockdown but charges same price | EstherHjHan
Australia’s largest internet provider Telstra will downgrade its “Premium Speed” internet plan but charge customers the same price in a move consumer advocates describe as disappointing.
Mr Forward, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the technology industry, estimated thousands of customers paying $110/month for 100/40Mbps would be impacted.“Everybody in our kind of situation is going to get problems while video conferencing, not all the time, but get serious issues in the middle of a meeting or, in the case of my son, his HSC exam, and it will be a significant problem.”
“Importantly we’ve found the majority of our consumer customers do not need the additional upload bandwidth,” she said.
