Queensland is expected to cop another day of below-average temperatures on Tuesday.
Queensland is set to experience another day of colder temperatures on Tuesday after temperatures of five to 10 degrees below the average swept through the state on Monday.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Livio Regano said an unusual combination of clouds and southerly winds was bringing the cold to the sunshine state. Clouds and southerly winds are making Brisbane experience weather similar to a typical cold Melbourne day.“There are no records being broken yet but we’re getting close and Bundaberg hasn’t gone anything above 12 degrees today,” he said.
“In fact the whole of Queensland is freezing with temperatures five to 10 degrees below the average because of the massive band of clouds and the southerly winds.” Regano said Tuesday would bring similar temperatures with south-east Queensland to experience a cloudy, cold and rainy day before clearing on Wednesday.“The weekend weather won’t be perfect but it will certainly be better than what we’re getting now.”“We’ve gotten to about 14 degrees at midday, which is nine degrees below average and similar to a Melbourne’s day when normally it is about 21 or 22 degrees.
