Increasing clouds on Sunday with lead to low rain chances for Monday as a disturbance moves across North Texas.

The view from 1818 Corsicana Street shows the downtown Dallas skyline. Clouds will begin to increase Sunday afternoon ahead of our next disturbance. A few showers will arrive late Sunday night into Monday. Southeast North Texas is under a General Thunderstorm Risk for Monday. No severe weather is expected but a few rumbles of thunder will be possible.

We’ll go from cool weather on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to flat out cold weather by Thursday. That’s when an arctic cold front will arrive with the coldest air of the season. Right now, there is a low chance of wintry precipitation, Wednesday night into Thursday. We’re not expecting any travel problems across North Texas for now. We’ll keep you updated on this changing situation.

Otherwise, expect Thursday’s temperatures to fall rapidly from the 30s into the 20s. Friday’s morning lows will plummet into the single-digits to upper-10s. Also, windchills will dip below zero. Residents should now prepare for temperatures below freezing for at least 48 hours. Please prepare your home, vehicles and pets for this arctic outbreak.
