The work is being undertaken by National Grid and is part of wider plans to construct a new water treatment works in Church Wilne. "We will be laying a cable which is around 4km in total, along Tamworth Road and on to Draycott Road, to a site in Church Wilne," said a National Grid spokesperson.
"It is anticipated to take around 10 weeks in total. We apologise for any inconvenience caused." Severn Trent, which is constructing the new works near to its existing site in Church Wilne, said the project was due to be complete by 2025. "As part of our £566million Green Recovery programme, we're in the early stages of constructing a new water treatment works near to our existing site in Church Wilne," said a Severn Trent spokesperson.
