Chicagoans will enjoy another summer-like day, with the temperature predicted to hit what would be a record-setting 83 degrees on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The unseasonably warm weather saw Chicago notch its first official 80-degree day of 2023 on Wednesday. The balmy temps are expected to continue through Saturday and then things will cool down on Sunday.

For those taking advantage of the heat and heading to the beach, the weather service has a word of caution. It may feel like mid-summer, but Lake Michigan isn’t fooled and water temps are still dangerously cold. Our stretch of unseasonably warm weather will continue today w/near record highs in the 80s! It will remain warm tomorrow and Saturday, though lake cooling is expected, especially Friday afternoon! Weather will turn colder and more unsettled Saturday night and Sunday.
