A young girl in Queensland suffered serious burns after a hoodie purchased from online retailer Temu caught fire. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is investigating the incident and has recalled the faulty children's jumper.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission ( ACCC ) is investigating Chinese online store Temu after a recalled woollen children's jumper caught fire, leaving a young girl severely injured. Daniella Jacobs-Herd suffered burns over 13 percent of her body when flames from a backyard fire pit ignited the 'Unicorn' hoodie she was wearing at her mother's birthday party. The fire caused third-degree burns to her chest, wrist, right hand, and fingers, as well as flash burns to her face.
The ACCC found the hoodie breached Australian standards for children's nightwear because it lacked a fire warning label. Temu recalled the product in November, citing a 'risk of serious burn injuries' if exposed to flames or heat. Daniella is expected to undergo procedures for most of the next decade to recover from her burns
