Set on pristine Karoso beach in the Kodi subdistrict in western Sumba, Cap Karoso is surrounded by forest and traditional peak-roofed houses and is filled with regional artefacts and ceramics. The staff are almost entirely Sumbanese.A three-hectare organic garden created by the Ivaras will provide the basics for most meals in Cap Karoso’s Julang restaurant; while training programs in landscaping and farming will be offered to local communities.
