United signed Sergio Reguilon on loan as a stop-gap replacement and the Tottenham man impressed during three early-season performances, before injury also struck the Spaniard down. Eriksen excelled alongside Casemiro for large parts of last season, while £60million Mount has shown glimpses of what he can bring to the table since recovering from his own injury problem. However, the former Chelsea midfielder is typically a whole lot more comfortable in the attack-minded positions.
"One of my wishes to get another [number] six," said Ten Hag upon signing Amrabat, who he knew from their days at FC Utrecht together. "You need depth in there, in that position we only had Casemiro who can play really well there.
