Sam Groth, the Australian tennis player who holds the record for the world’s fastest serve, is weighing up a tilt for the state seat of Nepean.
The tennis player has been headhunted by the office of Liberal leader Matthew Guy, and was recently been pictured playing with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, a tennis enthusiast.The Liberals need to win Nepean, which takes in a section of Mornington Peninsula, back from Labor to have any chance of winning the next election.Mr Groth has not made up his mind about whether he will run but is strongly considering a tilt, sources said.
