Alamo Colleges has nearly 800 full-time faculty. Roughly half of them earned tenure prior to 2011 - when ACD stopped offering tenure track. The current proposal would impact 442 current full-time faculty who were hired since 2011.
“I think year is key because faculty, administration, and the board decided this is something that we need to resolve,” Flores said. “How can we move forward as an organization that serves 65,000 students and a community approaching two million folks? We are critical in the community and we want to be able to reach an accord on how to move forward.”
