Immediately after his latest win, Crawford was fielding questions about a fight with Spence that has been much discussed but difficult to make. “Listen, I’m a free agent, this was a one-fight deal. Hopefully, we can go [back] to the drawing board and these big fights come about in the near future,” he said.
Spence has looked untouchable since he first became a world champion by beating British fan favourite Kell Brook in 2017.Since then, he’s picked up wins over Lamont Peterson, Mikey Garcia, Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia and Yordenis Ugas to prove he is the man to beat at 147lbs. Many believe Crawford would be the toughest test of his career and will be hoping they can finally come to terms on a deal for the mega-fight in 2023.
