The search for the crypto fugitive has come to an end

Kwon has been accused of violating South Korea's financial laws following the collapse of the TerraUSD stablecoin and Luna token that sent shockwaves across the crypto market last May.

Seoul prosecutors issued an arrest warrant for Kwon back in September. Shortly after that, the controveail entrepreneur was also slapped with a red notice by Interpol. Notably, Kwon repeatedly attempted to downplay the gravity of his predicament, insisting that he wasn't on the run despite refusing to reveal his location. The Serbian authorities have been cooperating in the search for Kwon despite the fact that the two countries have no extradition treaty.

Posts mislead on Japanese paper's use of 'Mr' for South Korean leaderPosts mislead on Japanese paper's use of 'Mr' for South Korean leaderA screenshot of the front page of a Japanese daily has been shared repeatedly in Korean-language posts that misleadingly claim the paper 'disrespected' South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol by addressing him as 'Mr' rather than 'president' in its report. But the Japanese title 'Mr' does not have the same connotation of 'talking down' as it does in certain contexts in Korean, a linguist told AFP. Japanese media typically refer to national leaders, including their own, as 'Mr', whereas South Korean media customarily refer to them solely by their official titles.
