Edward Cole, 64, has hit out at council chiefs after being ignored over asbestos fears following the Station Hotel inferno.
An Ayr resident who lives close to the Station Hotel has told how he and elderly neighbours were almost evacuated during last Monday's inferno due to asbestos fears.
The chairman of the flats has told how elderly neighbours were terrified after firefighters and medics told them they had to stay indoors as the building was locked down. Edward told Ayrshire Live: "I live across the road from the fire, I’m the youngest in the building but there are people up to 100 years old in here.
“I had to sleep wit a mask on. I’m a nurse and I had masks in the house – I gave masks out to other residents.
