Over 60 food items have been hastily recalled by manufacturers due to concerns over a potential E. coli outbreak that has hospitalised people across the UK.
The Manchester Evening News reports that the FSA has disclosed that the manufacturer has put out a recall for its Chicken and Bacon Wrap. Sold exclusively at WHSmith, the wrap has been pulled over a "possible contamination" with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli. This closely follows manufacturers Greencore Group and Samworth Brothers Manton Wood pulling a number of sandwiches, wraps and salads off shelves, commonly sold in major UK supermarkets tied to a possible E. coli outbreak.
