Tesco is encouraging the nation to do good by going to the pub
Ahead of the Coronation, supermarket . However, the pub in question is its first ever public house.
Called The King in the Castle, it is located in London’s Farringdon. Friends and family are invited to come together, whether they’re marking the historic occasion or simply making the most of the long weekend, with all proceeds from the pub going to the supermarket’s longstanding charity partner, youth charity The Prince’s Trust.
From May 4 to 5, customers will be able to order from a Coronation-themed menu featuring products from the Tesco limited-edition range with highlights including ‘Camilla’s King Prawn Curry’, ‘The Prince’s Crust Pie’ and a ‘trifle-inspired’ bellini.
According to the supermarket’s research, one in six UK adults cite going to the pub as their favourite way to come together with friends and family. Capturing the celebratory mood of the nation, The King in the Castle will be decked out in stunning hanging floral displays and bunting throughout the venue. Outside the venue, there will be a sampling station for passers-by to try bite-sized portions of the menu.
