Tesco wants to make the process easier and fairer for everyone
The retail giant has implemented a new policy for its ‘reduced to clear’ items in stores, by creating a new permanent area for the items. Previously, yellow-stickered items could be found on unmarked shelves throughout the store, at certain times of the day.
The revamp for the areas will include new banners reading ‘Reduced in price. Just as nice’, reports the MEN. Tesco hopes the new-look will tempt the 29% of customers who said they would buy reduced items more often if the section was made more visually appealing.Reduced to clear items include products such as salads, meat and bread which are nearing their expiry date, as well as discontinued items.
