As Germany’s consumer watchdog noted, fuel savings vary greatly based on how much a consumer drives, and using it the way Tesla does is “arbitrary, lacks transparency and contradicts principles of true and actual pricing.”The company’s promotion of “after savings” prices has also drawn considerable criticism in the U.S. for years, particularly from franchise, who argue Tesla is skirting regulations that prohibit false pricing promises in traditional advertising, like radio spots.
Tesla didn’t provide a comment on the matter or whether it planned to modify how it shows pricing in the U.S.:"I'm really sensitive to the idea that we are somehow misrepresenting the true cost of the car.
