Austin Bost’s two-run home run to left field following Jack Moss’ leadoff single in the eighth busted open a 6-6 tie and shoved A&M to its second win of the regional, after Louisiana led 6-4 through six innings. The Aggies under first-year coach Jim Schlossnagle now wait the winner of Sunday’s 1 p.m. elimination game between Louisiana and TCU. A&M needs a lone win in its two possible games remaining of the regional, with the first opportunity to advance starting at 7 p.m. Sunday. A potential final title game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday if necessary.
The Aggies are angling to advance to a super regional for the first time since 2017, when A&M also made its last College World Series in Omaha, Neb. The Aggies are trying to win their first regional at Blue Bell Park since 2016.
