The Aggies will face top-seeded Auburn on Friday for a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Texas A&M guard Quenton Jackson, right, dunks the ball over Florida guard Phlandrous Fleming Jr. during the second half of an NCAA men's college basketball game at the Southeastern Conference tournament in Tampa, Fla., Thursday, March 10, 2022. One down, at least one big one to go as Texas A&M continues trying to stake a late claim to an NCAA Tournament bid.
Florida never led in the 40 minutes of regulation, and gained its first lead a little more than a minute into the overtime. A&M guard Hassan Diarra coolly sank a 3-pointer with .4 seconds remaining for what turned out to be a harrowing comeback victory for the Aggies. A&M and Florida were among five SEC teams that finished with a 9-9 record in league regular season play, and the streaking Aggies have won five consecutive games and six of their last seven following an eight-game losing streak.
