Texas comedian who regularly performed in San Antonio dies after contracting RSV
Serda's wife, Pamela Garcia, started acampaign after Serda's death to raise funds for the comedian's funeral. So far, the campaign has raised more than $7,000 of an initial $8,000 goal.
"He leaves behind his 6-year-old daughter, whom he loved deeply, myself, his mother and two sisters," Garcia wrote on the GoFundMe page."His daughter was his entire world. We all loved him so very much."Garcia wrote that due to Serda's pre-existing condition, he was disqualified for life insurance. RSV is on the rise nationally, including in Texas. The virus usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms but can be deadly, especially in infants and the elderly. It can also be dangerous for those with compromised immune systems.that since August, RSV has been the"second most common virus" in pediatrics behind the flu.
