Texas Democratic urge Biden to use federal powers to restore medication abortion access

“We’ve been fighting on this issue for a long time, and we have to continue to fight because I’ll be damned if we give a worse future to our daughters and our little nieces and our little girls than we had,” Garcia said at the news conference. The letter also suggests the administration create a federal program for providers who are federal employees or contractors who want to volunteer their time to dispense donation-funded medication abortion. The purpose would be to circumvent the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer dollars from being used to fund abortions.
