After Abbott says he’s been increasing teacher pay and school funding, O’Rourke counters that Abbott has been governor for 8 years and Texas teachers are being underpaid by $7,500 a year.Says Abbott: “There is only one person on this stage tonight who has ever raised property taxes, and that is Beto.”
O'Rourke responds by saying the total property tax levy in Texas has raised $20 billion with Abbott in the governor's office."You want more property taxes, elect Gov. Abbott."Abbott says Texas grid strong, brags on low power costs “I will fight to make sure that every woman in Texas can make her own decisions about her own body,” O'Rourke said.
Abbott reiterates that he believes it's unconstitutional to raise the age to buy assault-style rifles from 18 to 21, citing a recent federal appeals court ruling.
