The truck driver accused of carrying dozens of migrants inside a hot trailer allegedly pretended to be a victim when he was found by police officers 'high on meth' in a nearby field.

The vehicle, which had"stacks of bodies in the trailer", was found abandoned on the outskirts of San Antonio on Monday night by a worker in a building nearby who heard cries for help. Police confirmed 46 migrants had died with some"hot to the touch" as temperatures in the city climbed to almost 40C.
