Voters in Texas will decide on Election Day, if the state can go forward with creating the Texas Water Fund. Proponents of Proposition 6, feel this is the right

Voters in Texas will decide on Election Day if the state can go forward with creating the Texas Water Fund. Proponents of Proposition 6, feel this is the right path to take to ensure a safe water supply for future generations.

“Water is a priority for Texas and is something we work on continuously,” said Ben Weinheimer, Panhandle Regional Water Planning Group. If Proposition 6 passes, it will help the state identify additional sources of water and create a fund overseen by the Texas Water Development Board. “There is set aside in this bill in the Proposition 6 that would allocate money for communities with less than 150,000 people which would help ensure all of that money does not go to the big cities,” said Satterwhite. “It can help out some of these smaller communities that really have a need.”
