Texas vs. Texas A&M: Baseball rivalry renewed but looking at more
Texas and Texas A&M fans alike enjoyed the old rivalry on Tuesday night at Blue Bell Park soon to be a reunion as SEC foes.COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M sells beer in a plastic cup shaped like a baseball bat at Blue Bell Park, and “Aggies” is etched on the end of the bat.
The good news for fans who enjoy drinking a rival’s beer no matter the venue: Two years from now A&M vs. UT in baseball will be a three-game series in the Southeastern Conference. Fifteen was a key number for the Longhorns in their annual shindig with the Aggies: They won their 15th consecutive game, the nation’s longest current streak. They outhit the Aggies 15-6 but left 15 runners on base in the occasionally unkempt contest.
“Honestly, I’m a little numb right now,” Pierce said after A&M knocked UT out of the CWS 10-2 last June.
