A Tasmanian man and a Victorian woman have passed away after receiving the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, the Therapeutic Goods Administration has confirmed.
“Sadly two people with confirmed TTS following the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine died in the last week,” a statement by the medicines regulator said.
“One was a 44-year-old man from Tasmania and the other was a 48-year-old woman from Victoria. We extend our sincere condolences to their families and loved ones.” This latest announcement brings the total of deaths linked to the vaccine to six people out of 6.1 million doses administered across the nation.
