3,550 primary and 7,198 secondary aged children did not get a place at their first choice school this year
Inner London was found to have the hardest schools to get into in the country. One in every eight children did not get into their first choice primary school. This rose to one in three for secondary school places.

This means 77, or 56.2%, did not get a place.St Anthony's Catholic School in Beeston had 57 applicants put the school as a first preference but only 29 of these were offered places. This means 28, or 49.1%, did not get a place.
