The Afterparty season 2 solves its murder mystery.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary The Afterparty season 2 delivers an ending that not only reveals the identity of Edgar Minnows' killer, but explains the poison-brewing culprit's real intent. The Apple TV Plus show's intricate millennial murder mystery plot sees Aniq , an escape room designer, attending an ill-fated wedding with longtime crush-turned-partner Zoë .
Earlier in the season, it came to light that Vivian and Ulysses had an affair decades earlier, which pushed him to leave the family behind and travel the world. Edgar searches high and low for Grace's funcle, eager to reunite the family at the wedding. Ulysses epic-romance mind movie indicates that he met with Vivian to discuss the identity of Grace's father. In fact, much of his story hinges on swiping some of Grace's DNA so that he can perform a secret paternity test.
The well-traveled Ulysses notices devil's trumpets in the rehearsal dinner centerpieces and procures some of the highly poisonous plant. The next morning, Ulysses sneaks into Aniq and Zoë's lodging and takes a preposterously long shower. Played for comedic effect in Aniq's retelling of events, Ulysses shower was much more sinister: he used the hot water to brew a poisonous tea.
The beloved pet of Edgar's late father, the dog is the bane of the Minnows' matriarch Isabel's existence. Throughout the series, Isabel laments the dog's resilience and apparent nine lives. In Zoë's mind movie, a campy horror flick, she enters Edgar and Grace's bedroom for benign reasons, only to be viciously attacked by the dog. Although Zoë believes she accidentally murdered the dog by throwing him out the window, he reappears, as if on cue, no worse for wear.
