There are concerns over a new strain
Coronavirus infections continue to rise across the UK with roughly one in 17 people now testing positive. In Nottinghamshire the situation varies depending on the area in which you live, with some regions reporting an influx in cases and others a very low number.
And there is a new sub-strain of Omicron which has been named Centaurus. Health experts and virologists across the globe have voiced some concern over the new variant which is more readily being recorded in tests. Centaurus, or BA.2.75 variant as it is also known, is rapidly spreading in India and has arrived in the UK in recent weeks. It is being closely monitored due to its yet-unknown potential impact.
