Job vacancies may have fallen across a range of sectors in Australia in recent months but some sectors are bucking the trend.
There were 390,000 job advertised in August, down by 38,000 from May, according to data from the Bureau of Statistics released on Thursday.
The ABS said while these indicators are no longer at historical levels, both show the labor market is tighter than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic."Job vacancies were still around 72 per cent higher than they were in February 2020," ABS head of labor statistics Kate Lamb said. Financial and insurance services showed the largest drop in job vacancies at -15 per cent this quarter.
