The screenplay for the 2022 DC movie TheBatman, which stars Robert Pattinson as the titular caped crusader, can now be read for free online.
The official screenplay for The Batman is now available to read for free online. The film, which is the latest live-action project to dramatize the exploits of the iconic hero who premiered in DC Comics more than 80 years ago, stars Robert Pattinson in the title role alongside Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Colin Farrell as The Penguin.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Deadline has released the script for The Batman as part of their Read the Screenplay series, which highlights important writing from this year's awards season. The screenplay was co-written by the film's director, Matt Reeves, and Peter Craig, a novelist who has also penned the scripts for blockbuster films like The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part One and Bad Boys for Life, in addition to providing the story for this year's smash hit Top Gun: Maverick.
The nominations for the 2023 Golden Globes, which were announced in early December, did snub the film entirely. The only superhero project that received any nominations at all was Marvel's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which nabbed nominations for Best Original Song and Best Supporting Actress for Angela Bassett.
The Batman has been given more of a shot by the Academy so far, as it appeared three times in the 10 shortlists they released for certain Oscar categories. The film is present in the Makeup and Hairstyling, Sound, and Visual Effects shortlists, though Michael Giacchino's score was notably snubbed, to the dismay of fans. The nominations for Best Adapted screenplay are up in the air, so The Batman may have a shot in that category as well.
