The “big test” for Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil at the National Press Club will be if her new policies solve the “extraordinary rental crisis” in Australia, says Deputy Opposition Leader Sussan Ley.
Ms Ley’s comments come as the country’s migration system could undergo an overhaul after a recent review highlighted labour shortages and unsuccessful regional visa programs.
“Yes, there’s been a lot of intake – about a million migrants in the government’s term,” Ms Ley told Sky News Australia.
