What a spot 😍
Nature is amazing, isn't it? Vast expanses of patchwork fields and terrain, lush landscapes, rugged rocks and secret open spaces dominate our rural areas.
The magnificent limestone ravine has to be seen in person to really soak in its detail. Passing through the winding, seemingly-endless trail is an enthralling and experience, making it easy to see why the area inspired poets and landscape painters, including Cumbria-born William Wordsworth. The chasm is expansive and imposing creating a mystical, almost fictional valley and it is carved out of a glacial melt over several millions years.
The waterfalls can be powerful and loud, with water cascades heard from quite a fair distance away on a clear and still day. It is advised not to climb the waterfalls, especially in poor weather conditions.
