A pub in Oldham described as being a ‘real ale lovers delight’ has been named the best pub in Greater Manchester as CAMRA unveils its top 16 pubs across the country.
The hospitality veterans who have worked for a number of brewers and pubs over the years will now compete against 15 other regional pubs for the top national prize next year. ‘Well-established micropub’ Beer Engine in Skipton was named CAMRA’s best pub in Yorkshire, with its varying beers, craft keg fonts, still cider and fruit cider all recognised.
Andrea Briers, National Coordinator for the Pub of the Year competition says: “I am delighted to announce this year’s final 16 pubs. I would like to congratulate each and every one of them for their hard work against a difficult backdrop for the trade with increasing energy costs, business rates and the cost-of-living crisis impacting on people visiting pubs.
