The story of the ‘The Crown’ may continue in a prequel.
. While no official plans have been greenlit, there is good reason to believe that we may get to go back in time for a glimpse at the British royal family at the turn of the 20th century.
Reportedly, the prequel would begin with Queen Victoria’s death in 1901 and span up until Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding in 1947, which is when the first season of begins. Show creator Peter Morgan would write the prequel series, and it wouldn’t just be one season. The “speculative” show would run anywhere from three to five seasons. During this pocket of time, we would see the reigns of four different kings: Edward VII , George V , Edward VIII , and George VI .
