ANALYSIS: The Eels are the real deal this NRL season
Everyone expected Parramatta to win against North Queensland on Saturday night — even considering the way the Cowboys played last week — but the Eels really came out and put on a show.
Clint Gutherson was unbelievable on Saturday. Dylan Brown also really stepped up at five-eighth and Reed Mahoney had a great game. These are young guys that seem to have been given a leadership role straight off the bat — and they're really living up to expectations.Brad Arthur has done a great job with this side. He's got them all on the same page and everyone from 1-17 is playing their best footy.Having said that, four-try man Maika Sivo is just a delight to watch.
Sometimes in footy that just happens, the ball just goes down the left all night, then the next week, it all goes down the right — but at the moment, the combination for Parramatta down the left edge is lethal.I think the biggest thing for me about the Joseph Leilua incident was how disappointing it was.
It was suiting his game, but it was just a matter of someone pushing his buttons that would make him go to that next level and, when Penrith sealed the game with the late try, Leilua saw Dylan Edwards at the back and he's just come up with that shot. I just feel sorry for the club because I believe the Wests Tigers are really taking a step in the right direction.
