Players and spectators at a football game near Geelong were stunned when a massive bolt of lighting hit a tree near the footy oval - and the spectacular sight has been captured on video. 7NEWS
While players, umpires, coaches and spectators ran for cover, Tony Cattanach managed to capture the extraordinary moment a thick bolt of lighting struck a large tree just off the side of the oval.At first, Cattanach said he didn’t even realise what he had managed to get on camera.
“As come through, I thought I’d just get the phone out, and get a little short video of the hail,” he told 7NEWS. “I didn’t actually realise that that lighting strike was in the video until about five or 10 minutes later, and yeah, really couldn’t believe it.”
