“That to me was a family story. I just thought it was very acutely observed. The script was wonderful, quite spare but complex,” she says. “And then I met this wonderful director, Natalie Erika James, who I just adored and still adore and I’m still in contact with her.” While she has always slipped between acting and directing, it happens more seamlessly these days. But they are entirely different experiences, she says.
She pays credit to her associate director Chris Parker, who was the associate on the first run of this productionwill open again in Frankston in July, continuing its national tour. Another Agatha Christie may be on the cards, Nevin says.
