“I asked the Garden Museum to purchase this from eBay for the exhibition. I’m fascinated by the difference between wild and cultivated roses, hence the title. There are various schools of thought about where– aka the dog rose – got its name.

“Philip Treacy designed this hat for Alexander McQueen’s famous Sarabande collection – I’ve given McQueen the title of fashion’s rosarian before, and you can see why here. His designs for this show are covered in roses, all of which are done in natural colours, which is interesting.
