Public availability to military weapons is evil!

It was Fall 2018 and I was shopping at Cabelas Sporting Goods in Maine. In the gun department I found four men ogling military style weapons. As they remarked about the “beautiful guns,” the sales clerk chimed in that " media was worse than Democrats” regarding AR-15 elimination.

As a life long hunter I understand admiration for guns. However, public availability to military weapons is evil! Our second amendment was created to enable citizens to have guns for a voluntary militia when our fledgling country had no professional military. Our current culture of weapon worship abuses the original intent with citizens owning military weapons created by gun makers for our professional army to mow down enemies. In the absence of congressional action to eradicate public ownership of heinous military weapons we do have options to stop patronizing stores like Cabelas and Bass Pro Shops wherein high magazine/severely punishing machine guns are available.

Rather, shopping at stores like LL Bean and Dick’s Sporting Goods where a more responsible gun philosophy is evident in the lack of military weapons sales. Decent gun enthusiasts must stop hiding behind the misinterpreted intent of the Second Amendment and stand tall for the safety of the everyday citizens whose bodies are being ripped apart in schools, bowling alleys, churches, and malls.

Stop waiting for elected officials to act on our behalf and stop patronizing establishments that promote weapons of war for both public enjoyment and public abuse. If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
