Who is the greatest GOAT of them all? And how do you measure greatness, anyway? We invited our writers to rank their top 10 greatest athletes of all time, then compiled a top 50 based on their votes. We asked our experts for a diversity of sports and genders. We did not ask them to leave their personal biases at the door. There are some fascinating inclusions, and exclusions.
For example, you might wonder what Cristiano Ronaldo, five-time Ballon d’Or winner and scorer of 916 goals for club and country, did to offend our panel.
