You can argue the merits of McGriff all you want , but he wasn’t near the level of player Bonds was. That’s probably true for 95% of the players already in the Hall, really. But that’s the thing. Barry Bonds doesn’t need a plaque to legitimize his career, and he never has. His legacy in San Francisco was cemented long ago, and that’s all that should matter.
