When did Lily stop hating James Potter?

Though the books included a good deal more information than Warner Bros.'s movies, there was still a lot unsaid about how the pair fell in love. This greatly affected how audiences perceived James' character since his redemption pivoted on Lily's love for him.
It can be assumed that, at some point after Lily and Snape had their falling out, James had a little more wiggle room to sweep in and befriend his fellow Gryffindor. It was evident in Snape's memories that James had feelings for Lily, and this was something the Slytherin boy had noticed as well. It's possible that, with Lily having a new appreciation for Snape's dark nature, she became more sympathetic toward James.
