Moovin Festival started as a secret barn party on a farm in Stockport and has grown to be an August Bank Holiday staple
A festival known as "Manchester's best kept secret" has announced its return for 2024. This August bank holiday weekend, music-lovers will once again be heading to a hidden Stockport farm in a beautiful countryside setting for Moovin Festival.
Spanning a wide range of music genres - from reggae and drum and bass, to funk, house and soul, Moovin started out as a small barn party and gone on to become a sell-out bank holiday staple for thousands. Last year's event saw Manchester resident Laurent Garnier headline, as well as sets from music pioneer Todd Terry, David Holmes and Massive Attack's Daddy G.
This year's lineup will see iconic hip-hop group Souls of Mischief and reggae legend David Rodigan take to the stage, along with Afro beats pioneer and global star Sampa The Great bringing an eclectic mix of broken beats and soulful vocals to the picturesque spot. As well as Prince Fatty & Horseman laying down their dub sounds, Moovin residents DJ Paulette, Mr. Scruff, Krafty Kuts, Greg Wilson, and Jaguar Skills will be back to showcase their turntable talents. And for fans of drum & bass and jungle, the categories will be well represented by DRS, Ray Keith, DJ Randall, Nicky Blackmarket, Mark XTC, and more.
