Baggy denim, on the whole, has become a bestseller since Meehan joined the company several years ago, right after its relaunch in 2014. Originally founded in the 1990s, Agolde took on a new identity, specialising in foundational denim made from rigid fabrications, available in a variety of washes and colourways.
Test-driving new jeans styles is part and parcel of her role, but the bestselling ’90s range, a shape she introduced when she first started, remain a staple in her personal wardrobe. Consistently sold out on Agolde’s dedicated e-commerce site and respective stockists, the ’90s bear a similar slouchy fit to the low-slung baggys.
“I think it’s that marriage of that very authentic fabrication and pairing it with a design that’s much more modern,” Meehan says of the ’90s classic yet contemporary appeal, which has made it a permanent fixture in wardrobes worldwide. “You want something you can wear over and over again,” continues Meehan, who assures that “everyone can find a shape that they really love” within Agolde’s denim range.
