Just a day after country music star Naomi Judd died unexpectedly, the mother-daughter duo she starred in, The Judds, are inducted into Country Music Hall of Fame in a ceremony filled with tears, music and laughter.
The ceremony went ahead at the request of the Judd's family, but did so with "heavy hearts and weighted minds,", the organisation's chief executive, Kyle Young, said.
Just recently The Judds had announced an arena tour to begin in September, their first tour together in more than a decade.Her daughters accepted the induction on her behalf Wynonna spoke about the family gathering as they said goodbye to their mother. She and Ashley Judd recited Psalm 23 during the ceremony.Fans gathered outside the museumA single rose was laid on the ground.
Sarah Trahern — the chief executive of the Country Music Association — said at the beginning of Sunday's ceremony that the music community wanted to lift up the Judd family in their time of grieving.
