The Killing of Chris Kaba: we look back at the key moments so far in the family's quest for justice ChrisKaba by LeahMahon_

UNARMED: Chris Kaba was shot dead by police on 5 September in South London

in Streatham, south London. The only details to emerge by Met sources was that the victim was in a “suspect vehicle” which was pursued by specialist firearm officers on Monday evening at 9:51pm. The victim was later taken to hospital and was pronounced dead at 12:16am on Tuesday morning. They said the meeting was organised to form an “alliance of committed community stakeholders” to address “issues surrounding the shooting of young people and the relationship with the statutory agencies”.

Assistant Commissioner, Amanda Pearson, the decision to have the officer still serving was having an “impact on public confidence”. She also stressed how concerned the black community was in particular over the killing. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, backs the Met’s decision to suspend the police officer who shot Kaba. Fresh demonstrations are announced as protestors gathered outside Scotland Yard on 17th September. The inquest into the death of Chris Kaba is opened and adjourned. One day before his family mark a month since his tragic passing.
