An exciting new idea, the candy floss business is creating animals and characters like Baby Yoda, Minions and Minnie Mouse using the sweet treat much to the delight of young customers.
A new business launching in Coatbridge and East Kilbride is delighting kids by creating animals and famous characters out of candy floss. John McGlone is offering the exciting new service, thought to be the first in Scotland, at his Ice Lab stores in East Kilbride and Coatbridge.
Though Covid restrictions meant they couldn't get out there, John recently made the trip and found the original artist, he added: "There were too many obstacles to bring someone over here, so we did the next best thing and trained out there, which with our new friend not being able to speak any English proved quite challenging.
He added: "Even after coming back to Scotland after the training, it proved a lot more difficult than we could have imagined as there were all sorts of differences even right down to the thinness of the sugar between the two countries. The entrepreneur revealed that it is the first time the art is available in Scotland, and could possibly even be the first time it's been seen in the UK.
