Some changes have been proposed since the plans were approved
Fresh plans for the transformation of a Greater Manchester town have been revealed. The multi-million pound project for Stretford town centre - which includes demolishing some of Stretford Mall - were approved last year, but the plans have now changed.
However, the Aldi supermarket will now remain in the same location with 'improvements' to the surface car park planned. A 'retail walking circuit' will also be created through the new park along Chester Road and into King Street, if the changes are approved. The height of buildings across the site have also been reviewed with a two-storey increase at the centre of the development. Some of the buildings next to the existing Arndale House and the multi-storey car park will now be as tall as 12 storeys, if the plans are agreed.
