The final frontier in aviation is often looked at as direct commercial flights between Sydney and London, clocking in at 19 hours direct flying time—the only problem is that the plane hasn’t (quite) been built yet.

Singapore Airlines Airbus A350-900ULR airplane connects Newark and Singapore. This is currently the longest flight in the world. The airline is a member of Star Alliance. Singapore Airlines found this out the hard way when they flew an older, much less efficient A340-500 from Singapore to New York, before discontinuing the unprofitable service in 2013. The flight was made up of a mostly business class cabin, with a small premium economy section at the rear.
